A long-cherished dream of Mr. M Ghousuddin and Mrs. Jamila Shariff Ghousuddin became a reality in the year 1978, in the form of “The Kenmore School” Kenmore has truly come a long way from its initial student strength of just 7 students.

Mr. Ghousuddin, a very honest, soft-spoken gentleman, was the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. Mrs. Jamila Shariff Ghousuddin, an immensely talented and enterprising lady, who came from a highly educated and well cultured family with rich history.

Her Grand father Mr. Zahiruddin Mecci, whose name is listed in ‘The Cyclopedia of India’ vol. III year 1909, held numerous prestigious posts, one of them being the Inspector General of Police under the Mysore Maharaja.

Mr. Mahmood Shariff, her father, a successful advocate of his time, was elected minister of Public Health and Excise in the first ministry of free India, under Chief Minister K.C Reddy, October 1947 to March 1952, he also held several other esteemed posts.

Mrs. Akhila Begum, Mother of Mrs. Jamila Shariff Ghousuddin the first Muslim lady in her area to have English education and also the first lady representative assembly member, a poetess and a revolutionary.

On this solid foundation of illustrious members of the family serving the Karnataka State as Public servants, the foundation of the Institution was built.

Mrs. Jamila Shariff Ghousuddin served as principal for 10 years. soon after she passed away in June 1988, her daughter Mrs. Ayesha Salma took charge as Principal of the school. She was a most enterprising and dynamic lady. The Institution saw tremendous change under her leadership for 23 years as Honorary Secretary and Principal. After the sudden death of Mrs. Ayesha Salma in August 2011, the institution was taken charge by her son Dr. Fowzi M Syed as the Honorary Secretary and working as Administrator in the school. With his family in the field of education and service to society mother as Educationist and his father Dr. Syed Abdul Wajid a Medical Doctor, with such rich education background Dr. Fowzi Syed is keeping up the legacy. Under his leadership every day is a new learning experience as he is open to new challenges and is awarded with numerous awards namely Award for service and education in the year 2015, An Honorary Doctorate from International Peace University Germany in the year 2017 and many more. In the year 2016 he introduced High School for Boys making the institution co-education. He is now leading the school to achieve greater heights.
